OUR STORY



The Clarendon has been nestled on the corner of Montague Road and West Avenue for almost 90- years and retains many of its period features. But - following a significant refurbishment in 2019 – a new look exists, which has carefully nudged this 1930's public house into the 21st century, with retro furnishings and colourful features.

A major part of this is the limitless energy and commitment our chefs have put into creating these dishes to the best standard. Our produce is fresh and is sourced locally around Leicestershire.

Ted ( Mark) Taylor is a very good friend of the pub and staff and almost everybody in Leicester. He has introduced hundreds of people to each other, a true legend. 6 Months ago he suffered a major stroke and is currently recovering in Hospital in Loughborough Ted played at County level for 2 football teams so we have decided to play a veterans match in his honour, and also create a legacy that will run for years. Please feel free to come and watch and have a beer or 2. The game is a charity fundraiser with a large percentage of the takings going to the Stroke Association UK.
